Garabandal

Pacual, F. Sanchez-Ventura Y. The Apparitions of Garabandal. St. Michael's Garabandal Center for Our Lady of Carmel, Inc. Pasadena, CA 1966.

This book is laid out to explain from a religious perspective the happenings at Garabandal. Though it is from a religious viewpoint, I rarely found many spiritual focal points, rather than objective viewpoints. This book explains simply the story of Garabandal and many interesting pictures.

Signs and Wonders of Our Times Volume 8 Number 2 Second Quarter 1996. Pages 4, 11-14. Dulles, VA. 1996.

Quarterly magazine about the End times signs. Visions and messages from the Virgin Mary, and her warnings for the present world. This magazine focuses not only on Marian Apparitions, but on the apocalypse in every spiritual niche. I found little information that was not based entirely on spritual beliefs and scripture. The information I did find, however was very helpful.

Blackbourn, David, Marpingen. Alfred A. Knopf, Inc. New York. 1994. pp.327-328; 343-344; 351. - These pages discuss the appearance of Mary during times of crisis. It refers to specific events that correspond to the apparitions at Fatima. It also discusses the apocalyptic tone of the Virgin's message at Fatima and her function as a consolation. Pope Pius's devotion to Mary is also mentioned, especially in reference to his anti-communist beliefs. It also discusses the apparitions that emerged after Fatima, which exhibited many similarities and perhaps were influenced by Fatima and it's anti-communist message.

Peliken, Jaroslav, Mary Through the Centuries. Yale University Press, New Haven. 1996. pp. 177-187. - This book discusses the Church's position on apparitions in general and then continues to go into depth with the apparitions at Fatima. It talks about the common features of Marian apparitions of the 19th and 20th centuries, but more importantly, about the political messages Mary conveyed at Fatima.
